DAY 1. WALKING TOUR CUSCO – INKA MUSEUM – MACHU PICCHU MUSEUM.

Today we pick you up from Cusco airport and transfer you to your hotel in Cusco City.

Today you recommend you to arrive in the morning in Cusco City at 3450 m (11,320 ft). Your first day is a great opportunity to explore the town, where history is alive.

Therefore, you will have a walking tour. On the way, you will visit Cusco’s central square, which was the main square of the Inca Empire and the Inkas called “Haukaypata”, then you will visit the Inka Museum to understand better this beautiful culture, then you will visit Machu Picchu Museum afterwards continuing with your tour, you will enter the local market of San Pedro, where your five senses will enjoy the great variety of local aromas. Then you will go back to your hotel.

DAY 2. PISAQ – URUBAMBA – OLLANTAYTAMBO – AGUAS CALIENTES.

We pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and drive to Pisaq town in the sacred valley of the Incas.

The so-called Sacred Valley of the Incas, along the Rio Urubamba, begins at the town of Pisaq, about 30 km (18mi) northeast of Cusco. It ends 60 km (36 mi) northwest of Pisaq at Ollantaytambo. The Urubamba begins its abrupt decent toward the Amazon basin.

On the way to the sacred valley, you will have 2 main stops. First one will be on the Sacred Valley look out point where you will stop just for some pictures and small explanation, then you keep going to the Inca place called Pisaq, here you will explore an Inka city. Afterward you get back to the private car and drive to Urubamba town where you will have your lunch there. After your lunch you will visit Ollantaytambo Inka place and enjoy a beautiful view, then you will go to the train station and take the train to Aguas Calientes town, where you will spend the night.

DAY 3. MACHU PICCHU TOUR.  

Today you will visit one of the new 7 wonders of the world Machu Picchu, this Inka city has survived more than 500 years. For 2 hours you will be walking through this wonderful city, visiting its most important temples and discovering the secrets of its construction. After your visit, you will take the bus back to the town of Aguas Calientes where you will have time to for your lunch at a local restaurant. After that you will go to the train station to take your tourist train to Ollantaytambo and walk to your hotel in Ollantaytambo town.

DAY 4. MORAY – SALT MINES – CHICNHERO – CUSCO.

Today you will visit the other side of the sacred valley, we will pick you up from your hotel and drive for 30 minutes to arrive to your first Inka place named Moray here you will learn about the Inka agriculture and enjoy a wonderful view, then we will drive for 30 more minutes to visit salt mines, here you will see more than 4000 salt ponds on the mountainside and beautiful landscape, after your photos and explanation we will drive to Chinchero where you will visit a community of OCUTUAN here local people will teach you the Inka technique that they still use to dye the alpaca and llama wool, here as well you will enjoy your lunch cooked with the product that this community produce. Then you will take your private car back to Cusco.

DAY 5. CITY TOUR CUSCO.  

Today you start this tour 8 am. you will visit 4 Inca remains.

We pick you up from your hotel and drive for 15 minutes from Cusco city to Tambomachay where you will see a temple for water, here the Inkas showed their gratitude to this vital element for life, then you will go to PukaPukara, this place was a check point to control all people who arrived to Qosqo (Cusco) city from the sacred valley, afterwards we drive to Qenqo, it is a natural rocky outcrop, where the Inkas found a tunnel and used to ceremonies and mummifications process.

Our next stop will be Sacsayhuaman the biggest Inca construction with huge rock built for more than 20 thousand people by order of the Inka Pachakuteq, here you will explore longer time walking through all its 3 levels then we will drive back to Cusco City. After this tour you will have free afternoon to explore and to enjoy the beauty of this wonderful city.

DAY 6. RAIBOW MOUNTAIN PALCOYO.

When Viracocha God built the Andes Mountains, he did not forget that the mountains are part of the natural beauty and he gave them color, because of the now we will visit the south part of Cusco city where we will see 3 rainbows mountains.

Peru’s rainbow mountains PALCOYO provide some of the most wonderful and unique scenery in the world. We have many of them and Palcoyo is one of the most beautiful. At 05:30 you will be pick up from your hotel in Cusco city (3,400 m) we drive for 1.30 minutes until to get to Cusipata Town where you have the first stop and you are able to use toilet, then we drive for 1:20 hrs. more to get to the community of Palcoyo (the star of the hike). On the way we drive through different Villages and enjoy the amazing landscape, where you can see farm areas of potatoes, corn, alpacas farm also a nice view of the red river. Once you get to Palcoyo Community, where you start your adventure, you will walk for 1 hours to get to Look out (4,900 m) where you are able to appreciate 3 rainbow mountains, the panoramic view of the red valley and the Ausangate snow mountain (highest Mountain in Cusco), then you continue walking for 20 minutes and you get to the “Bosque de Piedras” Stone Forest. After all of these beautiful scenery you start to walk down back to your privet car and go to a local restaurant where you can enjoy your lunch, after lunch back to Cusco City.

DAY 7. TRANSFER OUT to CUSCO AIRPORT.

Today your adventure in the Inka’s land get to its end and you have your transfer to the airport to take your flight back to Lima. If you want to explore and enjoy more of Cusco City, we recommend you to book your flight after 16:00pm, thus enjoy more of this beautiful city.

Season below the equator is the reverse of those in the north. Summer in the lower part of South America runs from November to April and winter from May to October. Nevertheless, the weather in the highlands is like north hemisphere, it means that in Cusco city, Puno and Puerto Maldonado (Amazon) are dry season from May to October.

The tourist season in Peru runs from May through October, which corresponds to the dry season in the Sierra and jungle.

In the Sierra expect rain between November and April, and especially January through March. The rest of the year the weather is dry and the temperatures fickle.

The sun can be hot, but in the shade, it is refreshingly cool. Nights are chilly, and the temperature may drop to freezing. Temperatures during Cusco´s dry month average 0°C (32°F)-22°C (71°F)

It is recommended to have insect repellent in the Sacred Valley area and the Machu Picchu area.

Light clothes for the day and warm clothes for the night.

Drinking lots of water helps control altitude issues.

1. Altitude Acclimatization:
Why is it important? Cusco is at a considerable altitude, which can cause altitude sickness (soroche) in some people.
Recommendations:
Arrive early: If possible, arrive in Cusco a few days before starting intense activities so that your body can gradually adapt.
Rest: Avoid excessive physical exertion during the first few days.
Hydration: Drink plenty of water.
Chewing coca leaves: It is a local tradition and can help alleviate symptoms.

To reserve your trip to Peru you must make a deposit of 50% of the total price of the trip and send a

photo of the deposit and the next important personal information or you can send a photo of the passports of each traveler in the group.

CANCELLATIONS.

To cancel your trip, keep in mind the following.

If your trip includes hotels, you can cancel 2 months before your trip begins in Peru.

If your reservation does not include hotels, you can cancel 1 month before starting your trip in Peru.

In both cases, only 70% of the deposit will be refunded. The remaining 30% will be used for administrative expenses and refund transfer expenses.
